April Showers Bring.... Crafts!
April Showers Bring.....
Items Needed:
- Purple, yellow, tan paper
- Scissors
- Glue/tape
- Googly eyes
- Markers
- Watercolors
Directions:
- Start by cutting a rectangle out of colored paper. Fold it back and forth until you get to the end. Pinch it together and then fold it in half. Tape the middle parts together and glue the middle bottom part. Lay it flat against a folded paper card and glue it down. Draw an umbrella handle with a black marker.
- Cut out a triangle for the little girl’s dress, a round face, and some rain boots.
- Grab some markers and add a smile, arms, freckles, and eyelashes! Get out some blue watercolors and have the kids get lots of water vs color on their brushes to make puddles and rain drops. These did not work out the way I thought they would by dripping down, oh well! They could just use blue markers to draw rain drop shapes.

ARE YOU PRACTICING GOOD
CAR SEAT SAFETY???
Did you know that children are generally not ready for a booster seat until the minimum age of 5? NHTSA recommends that your child remained in a harnessed car seat until they outgrow it! Click the link below to learn when your child is ready for a booster seat!

We all know child nutrition is important, so here is some valuable information about the recent meal plan our class has implemented, Rainbow In My Tummy! Rainbow In My Tummy is a comprehensive nutrition program whose goal is to provide childcare centers with the knowledge and tools to instill healthy eating habits and change our food culture. The meal plan features non-processed, whole foods, and incorporates foods the children may not have tried before, in order to expose them to new experiences. Rainbow Flower Craft

http://twitchetts.com/2017/03/construction-paper-rainbow-flowers.html/
Items Needed:
- Construction Paper. One sheet from each color of the rainbow and one sheet of white.
- Scissors.
- Pen or Marker.
- Glue Stick.
- Something to trace that makes a circle. (cup, bowl, stencil)
- Trace and cut out 6 circles from your construction paper. One circle for each color of the rainbow. (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple). If you’re not making a rainbow flower, just cut 6 circles from any color you like. You will need 6 circles to make your paper flower. To speed up the process, try stacking a few sheets together and cut them at once.
- Take and fold each circle in half and crease well. They will look like little tacos.
- Place some glue on side of your folded circle (aka taco). Then place the half circle onto a piece of paper. Next, take the opposite color, from the color wheel, and place it across from your first pedal. Be sure that the open sides of your half circles are pointing away from each other.
- So red across from green, blue across from orange, and yellow across from purple. This will help you space out your pedals. Fill in with the rest of the colors in ‘rainbow order’. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and you’re done!
- You can add a stem with a green marker to add a fun touch. Try making these paper flowers in all different sizes! To easily create the smaller flowers, I used a 1″ hole punch.
